Early College Opportunities

Chicago residents enrolled in high school (public or private) can take courses at the City Colleges of Chicago and receive college credit. For more information on these opportunities visit the Dual Enrollment page.

The City Colleges of Chicago have Dual Credit partnerships with some Chicago Public Schools.  Classes are taken at the high school and the credits apply toward high school graduation and also transfer to one of the City Colleges of Chicago. For more information on these opportunities visit the Dual Credit page on the website for the City Colleges of Chicago, and also ask your high school advisors about these opportunities.

Summer, late afternoon, evening and weekend courses are available for high school students. Recommended beginning courses are:

    1. ARCHITECTURE 110: Architectural Sketching. There are no prerequisites for this course.
    2. ARCHITECTURE 121: Basic Design Studio. This course requires eligibility for English 100.
    3. ARCHITECTURE 170: Digital Lab 1. This course requires eligibility for English 100.

The following is a 6-Course sequence that will help students who are preparing portfolios or who are interested in completing the AAS in Architecture. The sequence leads to a Basic Certificate.

Students interested in completing an accelerated program leading to the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Architecture may follow the plan below. Students who follow the sequence receive their AAS degree in one year + one summer following a spring high school graduation, and may begin a baccalaureate program in the fall.  Visit the "After CCC" menu for more information about transferring.
